A Digital Marketing Certification That's Actually Worth Your Time

As a recent college graduate with a Social Media Manager internship, I’m in the early stages of my digital marketing career. If you’re like me, Hubspot’s Digital Marketing Certification Course is the perfect starting point to learn fundamental concepts and practical skills needed to create, execute, and measure effective digital marketing strategies.

The course is offered for free through Hubspot Academy, which is Hubspot’s portal for educational content. It consists of a series of video lectures, interactive exercises, and quizzes that cover a range of topics related to online marketing. Here’s a brief overview of the key concepts covered in the course:

Inbound Marketing: The training kicks off with a detailed explanation of inbound marketing: a customer-centric approach to marketing that focuses on attracting, engaging, and delighting customers online through relevant and helpful content.

Content Marketing: The course covers the principles of content marketing, highlighting how to create and distribute high-quality content that resonates with your target audience.

Social Media Marketing: I’m always looking for ways to enhance my social media marketing strategy with measurable goals, so learning how to build a social media presence, create engaging content, and measure the success of your social media efforts was useful.

Email Marketing: The course also covers the fundamentals of email marketing, including how to build an email list, create effective email campaigns, and measure the success of your email marketing efforts.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO): The course details the basics of SEO which includes how to optimize your website for research engines, conduct keyword research, and track your website’s search engine rankings.

Paid Advertising: Hubspot covers the principles of paid advertising, including how to create and manage effective ad campaigns on platforms such as Google Ads and Facebook Ads.

Analytics: Lastly, it skims through how to track and measure the success of your digital marketing efforts using tools like Google Analytics.

When all is said and done, you must take a 60-question exam in order to earn the Hubspot Digital Marketing Certification. The exam covers all of the course material covered in the training and requires a passing score of 75% or higher. Overall, this self-paced course provided me with a solid foundation in digital marketing and practical skills.
